About Us
The Cattle
Our family farm, Red Hill Farm Trust, is located in Southeastern Ohio and began operations in 1987. It has grown to encompass roughly 12,000 acres of rolling pasture as well as crop acres to raise grains and roughage to sustain our beef cattle operation. Our current herd consists of over 1,700 head of beef cattle in a cow/calf to finish operation. The all-natural, antibiotic free cattle raised here at Red Hill Farm is featured locally on the menus of our two restaurants, The Bear’s Den Steakhouse and 360 Burger, both located in Guernsey County, Ohio. Red Hill Farm Trust is now proud to offer RHF All-Natural Beef directly from our farm to your table.
Conservation and Sustainability
Corn, soybeans and hay are grown with an emphasis on sustainability through no-till farming practices, annual crop rotation, and the use of cover crops during the acres’ idle months of the year. Randy Raber, Trustee, oversees the day-to-day management of the farm. His sons, Nathan, Jonathan, and Casey along with a highly capable team of employees perform every aspect of the farming operation from feedlot to crops to equipment maintenance and operation. The focus of Red Hill Farm has always been to minimize its footprint while maximizing production. Through their support and practice of stewardship of the land, the Raber family was honored with the State of Ohio’s 2013 Conservation Farm Family Award. This program has recognized outstanding Ohio farm families since 1984 for their efforts in managing natural and human resources while meeting both production and conservation goals. Part of this farm’s sustainability mission focuses on growing and selling locally.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our cattle are pasture raised from birth and finished on a diet of Red Hill Farm grown and harvested roughage of corn silage combined with high moisture corn. This finishing step is key to marbling and tenderness that guarantees a high-quality cut of beef. Cattle are evaluated and hand selected to determine their readiness before being processed.
