FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Can You Expect?

Our cattle are pasture raised from birth and finished on a diet of Red Hill Farm grown and harvested roughage of corn silage combined with high moisture corn. This finishing step is key to marbling and tenderness that guarantees a high-quality cut of beef. Cattle are evaluated and hand selected to determine their readiness before being processed. Why Freezer Beef?

Enjoy the confidence in knowing where your beef originated and where it has been before reaching your table. RHF All-Natural Beef offers the utmost quality in its meat. You have the confidence of knowing that no hormones, steroids, growth implants or unnecessary antibiotics were used. Each animal has been under the watchful eye of our staff throughout its lifetime.

Our freezer beef is processed locally in Ohio by family owned, USDA inspected facilities near Ashland and Dalton Ohio. Once processed, our beef is dry-aged for two weeks. This is an old-fashioned, time honored process for aging beef that requires extra patience and care. This is the natural way to age and chill beef and results in a more flavorful, tender cut by allowing water to evaporate naturally, thus tenderizing the beef and concentrating the beef flavor. Once properly aged, our beef is packaged in vacuum sealed packages and individually labeled. Once vacuum sealed, you can expect your freezer beef to last in its frozen state for about a year. From pasture, to processor, and straight to your freezer without any of the fuss. Hanging Weight vs. Cut Weight

Our hanging weights can vary between 650 and 800 pounds for the whole beef, varying because of the breed of the beef and the sex of the animal.  Hanging weight is the most accurate weight; however, it will be a higher weight than the total weight you will receive in your freezer due to trimming during processing.  The average loss due to trimming is approximately 40%.  For example, if your hanging weight was 800 pounds, you can expect approximately 480 pounds of meat in your freezer.  That number can vary depending on how many bone-in cuts you have made and how much is ground into hamburger. Are there additives or Artificial Ingredients in your Beef?

Absolutely no additives or artificial ingredients, ever. Our cattle are pasture raised and finished on Red Hill Farm grown and harvested roughage of high moisture corn and corn silage. This finishing step is key to marbling and tenderness. Cattle are individually selected and evaluated for readiness before being processed. How can I pay?

Payment in full is required before beef will be released to the purchaser.  We accept cash or credit card.  Please feel free to call or email with any questions. Can I pick the cuts of meat I want?

Orders of a half, or a whole beef can be fully customized to your specifications.   What is a mixed Quarter Beef?

A mixed quarter beef will be a half of beef divided in two.  That means you get a mixture from the front and rear of the steer.  You still get all the variety a half of beef gives you, but in a smaller quantity.  It is a great option for first time buyers or smaller households.  How will I customize my beef?

Our Processors, E.R. Boliantz and Co and 3D Meats will contact you to discuss your cutting options. This is where your customization process really begins. Choose the thickness of your steaks, how you would like them packaged, and more. Their knowledgeable staff can walk you through the process and make recommendations.
